My church has started sitting during most of our worship time, which is like pouring cold water on a warmed-up spirit. I feel that sitting is a posture for rest. Standing has always been a sign of reverence or honor as in standing when a judge enters the room or bowing before a king. So why have we become so nonchilaunt with the Almighty God and Savior of the world? It seems so disrespectful that I sense my spirit just cringing every time we sit while “praising”. Worship leaders please wake up and lead your congregations to truly worship and praise the Lord!

One word. Reverence.
Contemporary churches do very little if nothing to foster reverence, which can carry over into our private lives. There needs to be a resurgence of reverence in our day – from private to corporate.

I see this being true since when alone your posture is completely different becuase you aren’t being judged by other people.

I don’t thnk posture has a serius effect because sometimes I pray while lying down
And I stll receive and sometimes I pry while standing I feel the presence of God and
God looks at the heart at tmes the situation forces u to move around and shout.I believ
Tht wat matters is yo faith
