Success is not something you achieve; it's something you receive from God. You faithfully do your part, but it's a gift from Him to you. You're the instrument. You're not the musician. The instrument gets no credit. You're the glove; you're not the hand. The glove can't do anything. The hand in the glove does it all. Answers That Aren't Answers - #6698http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-hindrances/answers-that-arent-answers-66982012-09-12T11:44:57-05:00
The battle's going to be lost if you don't have the blessing of God on it. See, it isn't your effort that matters. It isn't the size of the answer that you have. If you are employing a solution that God can't bless, you can't win. Big Men, Big Mistakes - #6469http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-hindrances/big-men-big-mistakes-64692011-11-03T14:17:28-05:00
God's made it clear "your sin will find you out." He loves you too much to let you keep getting away with what will ultimately destroy you. We have to build our walls high around the places where we're vulnerable. And fall to our knees in repentance where we've strayed out of bounds before any more damage is done. Don't Switch Channels - #6307http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-mission/don-t-switch-channels-63072011-03-17T09:52:46-05:00
Right now, God is probably assigning someone to be your confronter. He does that because He loves you. You need one. Who is it? Are you listening even if the news is hard to take? Or do you leap to the defensive and you shut down if you don't like what you're hearing? Your confronters may or may not say it well. They may or may not have the right attitude. But they may have a point. The Most Dangerous Season of All - #6254http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-personal-power/the-most-dangerous-season-of-all-62542011-01-03T17:01:47-05:00
Don't make God remind you who is the source of everything you've got, because success that costs you the blessing of your Lord is simply success that you cannot afford. Why God is Turning Up the Volume - #6213http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-mission/why-god-is-turning-up-the-volume-62132010-11-03T11:39:16-05:00
If God's been turning up the volume, don't just turn over and go back to sleep. The noise will only get louder. Because God loves you too much to stop trying to get your attention; to stop working on you to live the way He created you to live. The sooner you wake up, the sooner it will let up. So Rich, So Needy - #6201http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-personal-power/so-rich-so-needy-62012010-10-18T10:33:01-05:00
God has always judged the true righteousness of His people by their love and commitment to three groups of people: the poor, the victims, and the lost. Is that what we're about? Is that what you're about? Your Attitude and Your Altitude - #5896http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-most-important-relationship/your-attitude-and-your-altitude-58962009-09-11T11:57:30-05:00
Set your attitude by the "horizon" of God's unchanging Word, even when your feelings and your surroundings are screaming to go another way. If your attitude is right, you'll hold your course, you'll fly steady as she goes, and you will complete your mission. So choose your attitude. What God Gives Bonuses For - #5811http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-mission/what-god-gives-bonuses-for-58112009-09-10T12:02:20-05:00
We can't earn our relationship with God. Heaven is based on us trusting completely in the work that Jesus did on the cross. But God's rewards in heaven, but also here on earth, are based on how we live. And He's got His eye on you. He has some wonderful life-bonuses He wants to give you. But He's a holy God. He can only reward holiness. Mess Prevention - #5796http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-personal-power/mess-prevention-57962009-09-10T11:31:53-05:00
In 2 Chronicles 18:4 , King Jehoshaphat gave King Ahab this advice before he went running off into battle: "First, seek the counsel of the Lord." King Ahab didn't, and he died in that battle. You can avoid a lot of problems and a lot of pain if you'll instinctively check with heaven first. Call before you dig.
