Since we can't see where choices lead until it's too late, do we live by the throw of the dice? Well, that's where the Bible comes in. It tells us where our decisions lead. When you sow to your sinful nature, it will destroy things. It's gonna happen! When you sow to things that please the Holy Spirit, you're going to reap things that will last forever. It's gonna happen! Convenience Costs More - #6391http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-hindrances/convenience-costs-more-63912011-08-08T12:07:23-05:00
The least expensive choice is almost surely the one that will take longer, require more risks and more faith. Don't fall for the lure of what's easy right now. It's probably pulling very hard, but you can't afford the price tag. The narrow road leads to life. The destination is what counts. All the Light You Need - #6379http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-mission/all-the-light-you-need-63792011-06-24T10:37:16-05:00
God's will is actually the natural next step for someone who's been following Christ a day at a time. So, you begin your day in His Word, which is the light for your path. And you say, "Lord, what obedient step do You want me to take today? What are Your orders for today?" When Marriage is a Multiple Choice Test - #6259http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-relationships/when-marriage-is-a-multiple-choice-test-62592011-01-11T11:41:18-05:00
While the Christian world opens the door wider and wider for believers to choose divorce, God hasn't changed His mind. "I hate divorce" He says. When marriage becomes a multiple choice test, use every choice there is to fight for your marriage. And be sure that divorce is not one of the choices. No Discount Disciples - #6218http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-mission/no-discount-disciples-62182010-11-29T11:05:53-05:00
Those who experience Jesus most deeply, most sweetly, are those who walk the way of the cross with Him. Don't be afraid to make the choices for Him that may cost you something. That's what taking up a cross means - expensive choices. Wasting What's Worth So Much - #6185http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-most-important-relationship/wasting-what-s-worth-so-much-61852010-09-27T09:35:04-05:00
Jesus is so important. Without Him, you'll never experience the love you were made for. The forgiveness He paid for. The heaven you hope you'll get to. But He's come to you today, where you are, to offer you an opportunity to begin a personal love relationship with Him. Running Red Lights - #6144http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-personal-power/running-red-lights-61442010-08-12T10:36:30-05:00
It's just plain foolish not to stop when the God of the universe says to. If you run the red light, one of two hurtful things is going to happen. Either God will do something more drastic and more painful to stop you, or He'll get out of your way and He'll let you walk right into the very unhappy ending down the road. But today...today He's giving you one more chance to stop before the cliff ahead. Don't choose the pain of running God's red light. Stop - before you get hit. The Waves You're Making - #6140http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-relationships/the-waves-you-re-making-61402010-07-23T16:16:41-05:00
Before you go speeding into what you may be considering, would you think about it and consider the waves that your life is making? Make the choices that will cause those who follow you to bless your memory and the God that you helped them find across those years. Sunsets in the Puddles - #6131http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-relationships/sunsets-in-the-puddles-61312010-07-23T15:23:05-05:00
How you handle what you don't like is the difference between peace and frustration, between contentment and anger, and between joy and discouragement. It's all about what you dwell on, not what you're going through. If you dwell on what's beautiful, if you dwell on what God is doing, or how you can lift up other people, you could be unsinkable no matter how many icebergs there are. For as one man said, "To those who look for providences, there will always be a providence to see." Choose joy! Choosing Your Battles - #6116http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-relationships/choosing-your-battles-61162010-06-21T11:16:58-05:00
Don't make every issue a battleground. Don't make everything a battle. Fight for the real issues, not over every incident. Don't try to settle issues based on an incident that's got everybody all inflamed right now. Deal with it at a time when there's not an incident. Save your ammunition for the battles that really matter. Above all, always check with God to see if this is His battle; one that He thinks is worth fighting.
