Ask God for the courage to confront, even when you're young, even when you're single. Deal with issues while they're small. Face the conflict; don't try to bury it. When a conqueror on the battlefront learns to be a confronter on the home front, then he's really being a man. One of the most disobeyed commandments of Jesus is to settle it with your brother. Maybe we should pray, "Dear Lord, I want to be water, and not wood on the fires around me." The Splitter-Upper - #6598http://hutchcraft.com/a-word-with-you/your-relationships/the-splitter-upper-65982012-04-25T10:22:45-05:00
If you're a parent, you just can't afford to choose between your children. If you're a son or a daughter, you can't afford to pick one parent to be close to and the other one to kind of freeze out or ignore. In spiritual leadership you can't afford to get close to one person over another. If people work for you, you've got to treat them the same. When we let conflict and hurt stay overnight in town - maybe many overnights - we destroy peace, we erode love, we erode trust. Unresolved anger is always a bad guy in town. And you know what to tell a bad guy, right? "I want you out of here by sundown!" True Woman Blog: HALT!http://truewoman.com/?id=10452010-09-08T13:10:46-05:00
I wish I had known this principle as a teen, and especially as a young bride. Practicing it would’ve saved me from countless conflicts, I’m sure. God's Purpose of Conflict in Marriagehttp://reviveourhearts.com/topics/downloads/index.php?id=99452010-08-25T15:50:13-05:00

In the heart of every Christian, a conflict is taking place: between our sinful nature and its urges and the Holy Spirit. The Christian life is in many ways defined by this ongoing struggle to overcome out sinful nature and surrender ourselves completely to God. As Paul once pleaded with former warriors in the battle to come together, I believe Jesus is pleading with us to get our eyes off each other and on the people who are dying without Him all around us. It is no one other than Satan who distracts us from our rescue mission - so he can keep his prisoners. It's our mission that forces us to come together, to fight our common enemy, to fight for our common Savior. We're same blood, remember? The blood of the Son of God!
