Being single doesn't mean being alone if you'll invest in those life partnerships and not just sit there saying, "Oh, when am I going to be married?" Now, our support group is a support person. We cannot stay away from sin unless we have our meeting - yeah, our meeting with God - regularly. The day you skip your meeting is the day you start to slip. We're not talking about some legalistic ritual where you have check the box Christianity: Read my Bible and prayed. Moving story of Tim Reilly sharing the good news through social media, at a critical point in a friend’s life.
Two comments:
- A prerequisite for this story: that Tim had a number of not-yet-followers as Facebook friends.
- He was open to the guidance of God's Spirit on who to speak to, and to use real-time Facebook messaging rather than merely posting a comment or question.

I hope you're in the category of God's unsung heroes. Oh, men may not know your name or the sacrifices you're making. Oh, but be sure God does. You may not feel like your role is important, but believe me like those women who supported Jesus' ministry, you're the foundation...you're the support beams. I want to be his number one encourager and affirmer. But I’ve noticed something. There have been many times in my life when that is the kind of support I really, really needed. It felt like no one else could understand the burden I was carrying. I was swamped by a wave of discouragement. I could have lost the love of my life at a couple of points. There are moments when you feel totally abandoned and isolated, alone and then there is Jesus; His hand on yours saying, “I’m right here.” That might be the kind of ‘be there’ person you need in your life right now.
