Superman Returns
I love comic books. I have been reading them since I was a kid. I love the larger-than-life heroes who use super powers to perform astounding acts.

Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith
All I can say after I finished Rob Bell's book, Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith is: Wow! This book challenged me in my faith and taught me so much about how I need to approach my reading of the Bible.

We Are Marshall
When the plane went down on November 14, 1970, it was more than the wreckage of an airplane along with its 75 passengers that went up in flames. It was the collective spirit of an entire community. Sons, brothers, husbands, wives, friends, classmates, lovers, gone in a nightmarish split second.

The Pursuit of Happyness
Some men are made successful because of the family they are born into or the education they receive. For everyone else, success is the result of hard work and a knack for making a series of good, timely decisions.

See the Morning by Chris Tomlin
The album starts off with good, uplifting stuff. Trademark Tomlin big guitars and driving beat. I know, nothing really new, but what he does, he does well. The first couple of songs seem destined to become worship kick-starters, particularly "Let God Arise."

Red Mountain Music
I know that albums are usually reviewed individually, and that it is usually unfair to both the listener and the musician to judge the entire body of their work in one lump sum. But some things must be taken as a whole, as one part builds upon the other and complements that part.

Superman Returns
The key to action movies is, well, action. While Superman Returns was absolutely worth the wait, it took a few minutes to get used to Superman/Brandon Routh’s uncanny resemblance to Christopher Reeve, it took a bit longer for this classic DC comic film to get into full motion.

X-Men: The Last Stand
Many of us have been anxiously waiting for three years for the third and possibly final installment to the X-Men film franchise. This past weekend $107 million worth of fans got their wish. Geek that I am, I was among them.

The Hijacking of Jesus by Dan Wakefield
This book is sold as a polemic against the “Christian Right” and does engage in some fun Democratic party games like “Let’s draw parallels between the American Right and the Nazi Party in the late 20’s!”.

The DaVinci Code
Moviegoers turned up at the local theater at 10:30 Friday morning. The agents of ten dollar popcorn and soda heists were standing sentry as the moviegoers arrived, popcorn popped and uniforms crisp they waited for a sellout that wouldn’t happen.
