Open It Before You Get There - #6637
When you're in Christ's care and you're headed toward what seems to be a closed door, remember your Lord's going to be there first making sure that the door is open before you get there.

Wimpy Death - #6527
Even in "the valley of the shadow of death," "we have this hope," the Bible says, "as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure" (Hebrews 6:19). In the deepest, in the darkest hour, the anchor held, and it always will.

Still There After the Storm - #6468
The cross still stands, proclaiming that God still loves me when it's too dark to see His face. The cross is there, assuring me I am forgiven when the guilt and the regret are trying to drag me into their pit. The cross remains, reminding me that Jesus has beaten death when death seems to be winning. The cross stands tall, declaring "This is not the end. There is a future beyond this darkness, and I'll be there to build that future with you."

A Whiplash World - #6331
I'll tell you, any time's a good time to belong to Jesus. But this time is a really good time to belong to Him. Because behind all the exploding events of our time, there is a plan. There is a God; there is a Savior; there is a King. There is a divinely orchestrated, humanly untouchable countdown to the coming of King Jesus.

Hope From the Rubble - #6239
The Bible tells us that we're without hope because we're "without God" (Ephesians 2:12). And we're without God because we've repeatedly chosen to do things our way instead of God's way - even the most religious of us. Every one and every thing we try in order to fill the hole in our heart ultimately becomes just another god that failed us. And then along comes Jesus.

A Father You Can Count On - #6169
Every dad dies someday - except one. He's the God who made you; the God who has asked us to call Him our "Heavenly Father." He's not the father you had on earth; He's the Father we all wished we had and so much more. He's the Father your heart has been yearning for your whole life.

Why a Life Collapses - #5998
Christian meetings, Christian people, they're all good, but they're not enough to build a life on. Christ has got to be your identity, your strength, your passion. Learning, and obeying, and leaning on what He says must be how you do each day. You don't have to keep caving in when the pressure hits if you will build your life on the storm-proof, flood-proof words of Jesus Christ, the Rock.

Darkness Behind You, Sunlight Ahead - #5978
Paul says, Jesus "gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness" (Titus 2:13). How can we drift back into the things He died to get us out of? I can't think of a greater insult to the Man who died for you. Because of Jesus, you were able to drive out of the storm, out of the darkness, out of eternal danger. Don't go back there. Everything you were made for, everything you need is on the Jesus-road ahead of you.

Finding Your Father - #5854
So many people who have lived emotionally unanchored and painful lives have found something amazing when they found Jesus Christ: they found the Father that their heart had yearned for so long. There is so much hope for hurting people in our word for today from the Word of God in Psalm 10:14. It says, "But you, O God, do see trouble and grief; You consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to You; You are the helper of the fatherless."

Anchor - a Christian perspective
Our trust in God serves as the anchor for our souls, an unshakable comfort and assurance to us.
