Free iPad ebook helps Christian writers to communicate better
Two journalism professors from Christian universities have teamed up to make a short iPad-only book that uses interactive content to help new writers snag a byline.
"'A One-Step Guide to a Byline' is designed for new writers who want to know the bare minimum for writing an article for the popular press and it uses roll-over features, an interactive quiz and eight videos to help writers succeed," says Michael Ray Smith, project director and professor from Campbell University in Buies Creek.

Storytelling - essential for Christian communication
Yet another reminder in this video short, that storytelling is the key to communicating any message, anywhere, any audience, any purpose.
My heart sinks every time I’m exposed to a sermon that contains no illustrations, no personal stories, no imagery, no jokes. Because I know that I will almost certainly have forgotten it by lunchtime.

The Great Wall Destroyer - #6745
When we go into the Father's presence sort of distant from each other, we almost always come out of His presence closer. Prayer softens hearts; prayer helps us see people and situations through God's eyes. And prayer is the great wall destroyer.

Extraordinary Ordinary - #6713
You say, "Oh, I'm just a Sunday School teacher. I'm just a helper. I'm just a choir member. I'm just an untrained, simple person who loves Jesus." You're not a "just a..." Stop it! Don't keep saying you're "just a..." You're not that if you open yourself up to letting the Holy Spirit make your ordinary extraordinary.

Restless For the Gold - #6707
Revival - that's the spiritual gold that every healthy Christian is hungry for. It's that extraordinary, powerful, transforming visit of the Holy Spirit above and beyond our normal relationship with Him. That extra visit that gives a generation a taste of all God can do. I want revival.

How to Live in a Stew Without Having the Beef - #6688
Why do we let there be walls where there should be bridges? Now, you can be what God delights in - a bring-us-together person. Are you one of those? Emphasize what unites us as followers of Christ, not what divides us.

Not So Secret Service - #6674
If we selfishly, carelessly drift from Jesus, we pull others with us, risking their destruction. Forever. Off duty? As the face of Jesus to people whose eternity depends on believing in Him? God, help me to always - always - leave the light on for them.

Intimate Messages - #6656
That song we learned as kids didn't say, "Jesus loves us," though that's true. It's so right because it says, "Jesus loves me. This I know."

Braving the Cold, Building a Fire - #6652
Let's actually ask God to break our heart with the things that break His. Take some risks to reach your neighbor, to give, to reach out to other people, to see your time, your money, your influence, your building, and your talent as a resource to take Christ's warmth into a cold, cold world. We've got to get out there and build a fire.
