Korah - a Christian perspective
Korah was a leader of a small band of people among the Israelites. It's a complicated story, but it seems that Korah and his followers were angry that Moses and Aaron were setting themselves up as heads of the community, when according to Korah the whole community was holy. Moses told them to present themselves to God to test whether they were right or not. God's glory came down and the earth swallowed Korah and his followers and a fire consumed the 250 holding censers.
