Using the iPad drawing app for Christian ministry and evangelism
Here’s a fascinating use of the iPad, involving a cheap app for drawing. How could we use this in evangelism and ministry? One idea that comes to mind is to use the proven open air evangelism sketchboard approach to progressively build up a message.

Take the EX out of ex-missionary. How to start a literature ministry back home
Ongoing ministry for missionaries: “It’s like I never left”
“I wish I could go back,” is the response of many missionaries when they get back to their home country. Reasons for not returning can be many: age, health, caring for older family members, children’s education, finance, or a volatile political situation.
Happily, there are many ways that a returned missionary can continue to minister to his or her country of service. Many are involved in some area of prayer and mission advocacy – encouraging prayer involvement and mission commitment within their home churches. Many can maintain mentoring links with national believers, or be involved in translation work. In these days of population mobility, they can often find a sizable population of ‘their’ people in larger towns.

Changing Facebook profile names according to your target audience
If your main Facebook page is primarily based around your ministry, and most of your friends are also involved in ministry, then it is not going to be an appropriate environment to build relationships with not-yet-Christians. It is not dishonest to maintain two different Facebook under slightly different names. Here are some suggestions.

Facebook Fan Pages as landing pages to promote your site or ministry
Interesting to notice that commercial companies (including new film releases) are now featuring Facebook Fan Page URLs in their TV commercials. Rather than initially point to their website, they use their Fan Page as a landing page which then links directly to their main site. The advantage is that people may become fans, thereby:
* opting in automatically to further news
* displaying to their friends the Fan Page link and its posts
* enabling discussion about the product or service featured in the Fan Page
Fan Page (and Facebook Groups) are highly strategic opportunities, either to make known your ministry to other Christians, or to creatively connect with not-yet-Christians. And, starting today, Facebook are introducing a new Community Page option.

Lateral thinking outside the box for Christians; using story for communication
In a rapidly changing world, we need to make frequent conceptual leaps for effective ministry.
A few years back, a European manufacturer of industrial drilling machines was suffering badly with competition from products manufactured in the Far East. Wisely, they called in consultants to help them see a way forward. “So, how would you describe your business,” asked the consultants. “Well, we sell drilling machines, of course,” they replied. “Well, actually, you don’t,” said the consultants. “You enable people to make holes.” This new way of perceiving their role led them to switch to making laser-equipment for cutting holes, with renewed business success.
