Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - "24"- Jack Bauer's Biggest Battle - #8148
A major national magazine carried an interview with the man who plays Jack Bauer. The title: “Heart of Darkness: Drinking to forget with TV’s hottest action hero.” That’s sad to read. Kiefer Sutherland said: “I should be able to wake up in the morning without going, ‘Oh, no! Where’s my boot?’ Or ‘Where am I?’ Or ‘One of your friends didn’t happen to bring my car home, did they?’ I don’t want to live like that.” He said, “I have a few drinks and I’m not so worried about tomorrow and not thinking about yesterday. Then the next day, I go, ‘Oh God, don’t let me do that again.’ So why do I do it again? And again? And again?’” A man with so much going for him and a losing battle with a darkness that keeps dragging him down.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - When You've Blown It Big-Time - #8147
Imagine the half-time locker room after Roy Regals’ big mistake. He was huddled in the back corner with his head in his hands. And the coach announced, “The same team will take the field second half.” Regals went to his coach and he said, “I can’t do it, coach.” The coach said,”Roy, the game’s only half over. Get out there!” And he did. Now, his team lost the game, but sports writers would say they had never seen a player play like Roy Regals did that second half.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - A Sunrise, Sunset Savior - #8146
During praise and worship, we were led in singing that great old hymn, “It Is Well with My Soul”. The verses talk about “when sorrows like sea billows roll…whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say, ‘it is well with my soul.’” I glanced over at that precious lady with Alzheimer’s who had appeared pretty unresponsive most of the weekend. Her lips were moving. She was mouthing those words! ”It is well, it is well with my soul.” It was hard for me to sing after that. Then she mouthed the words to the next song, ”My Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine…If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ‘tis now”. What a testimony to the kind of Savior we have. He’s our sunrise Savior, early in our life. He’s our sunset Savior when the darkness is closing in, and through every hour in between.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Killer Storm - #8145
Most of my life I have been trying to be a messenger of a warning that God has given to all of us—a killer storm that we cannot escape. ”Man is destined to die once,” the Bible says, “and after that to face judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). Because we’ve all broken God’s laws and we’ve hijacked the running of our lives. We all face the storm of God’s judgment—certain spiritual death—unless we get out in time through the escape route God Himself provided.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - The Brady Bunch Bombshell - #8143
So many folks live trapped between the “lookin’ good” role they play and an ugly, maybe frightening reality behind the image. That gap slowly tears you apart inside unless and until you can find someone who will take you as you really are and help you get to who you want to be and who you need to be. For millions of us, that person’s name is Jesus. He already knows everything about me—good, bad, ugly. The Bible says, ”Lord, You have searched me and You know me. You are familiar with all my ways” (Psalm 139:1, 2). So there’s nothing to hide.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Good News When You're Out of Gas - #8141
There was a time in my life when I was running on empty spiritually until someone told me were they got their empty tank filled; at the cross where Jesus died to remove the sin that makes possible a personal relationship with God, the relationship we were made for that leaves a hole in our heart until we know Him. Jesus said, “Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst” (John 4:13). For two thousand years, people have been pulling into that station and finding the answers they can find nowhere else.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Veteran's Day-Unchanged Orders - #8139
That’s actually why you and I belong to Jesus Christ today because of an unbroken chain of people who obeyed His original orders. Someone got to us with the message of a life that matters and an eternity in heaven. It started with Jesus and eleven men on a hillside. He gave this order, “You shall be My witnesses. Go and preach the Good News to all creation,” (Acts 1:8) and they did. They faithfully passed on the message of Jesus’ death and resurrection for us and they passed on the orders and the orders remain unchanged.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Feel Down at the Top
It is said that if you are at the top of Cadillac Mountain in Maine at daybreak, you will be one of the first Americans to see the sunrise that day. That would be something amazing to see, but you wouldn't want to make the valiant effort to get to the top of the mountain only to find the view there a big disappointment. Maybe you have experienced that feeling. You arrived somewhere you really wanted to go or you received something you really wanted, but it turned out to be disappointing.

Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - Sand Castle Syndrome
Sometimes life seems to be about building sand castles, and we put a lot into things that ultimately don't last. Jobs can turn out to be like a sand castle. ... You put a lot into a job, but when the company doesn't need you anymore, your job is washed away. You might feel that way about relationships, about marriage, or about your parents' marriage. The biggest things in our lives are so vulnerable.
