The Open Window - #6138
Unresolved conflicts, a wandering eye, playing with temptation that you should be avoiding like the plague, letting your passions push you to the moral edge, watching and listening to stuff that opens your heart to things you think you'll never do - those are open windows. Windows that you can't afford to leave open one more day.

When church leaders trip up: Liberty and the Ergun Caner situation
When a Christian leader makes mistakes, how are we to approach the situation? The Ergun Caner controversy raises some questions about how we handle "pulpit sins"... and about the "celebrity culture" within the church.

Slowly, But Surely, Submerged - #6105
You've got to stop that killer strategy with the first look, the first date, the first lie, the first flirtation, the first thoughts of divorce, the first detour from God's Word. This is going to take you where you don't want to go - unless you stop it now. Before today's compromise gives birth to tomorrow's tragedy, run from it.

Tiger's Troubles
I was struck by Tiger's admission this week that the problems aren't just physical. He said, "There are a lot of things going on in my life. I'm just trying to get everything in a harmonious spot, and that's not easy to do." It's easy to throw stones at Tiger. What he needs is our prayers.

No Such Thing as Getting Away With it - #6086
There's really no such thing as "secret sin." If God knows, it's no secret. If God knows, you're caught. And you can be sure God knows, and He loves you too much to let you ultimately get away with rebellion against Him, with things that eat away your soul that slowly destroy you. And the best time to turn around is right now, because the bill is getting higher every day.

Disappointing Investments - #6074
God's offer is simple, "Come to Me and I will give you what all your searching and all your spending has never delivered, and I will give it to you without cost." The reason none of our earth-investments have been able to satisfy the thirst in our heart is because we've been trying to get from them what we were supposed to get from a personal relationship with our Creator - which we have totally missed.

How to Avoid a Major Mess - #6019
When I was a kid, I had this inflatable boxer who was as big as I was. When I punched him, he fell all the way backwards, but he didn't stay down. He came right back up again. That's what God has made it possible for you to do so you can begin to break that cycle of defeat and discouragement.

Darkness Behind You, Sunlight Ahead - #5978
Paul says, Jesus "gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness" (Titus 2:13). How can we drift back into the things He died to get us out of? I can't think of a greater insult to the Man who died for you. Because of Jesus, you were able to drive out of the storm, out of the darkness, out of eternal danger. Don't go back there. Everything you were made for, everything you need is on the Jesus-road ahead of you.

Is there such a thing as a “righteous lie”?
Is it a always a sin to lie? Is there ever a time when it’s OK to commit a “lesser” sin—perhaps to avoid what you perceive as a much more serious sin?

Sin: setting ourselves above God
What was so bad about Adam and Eve’s sin in the Garden of Eden that it merited the judgment that they (and all of Creation) suffered as a result?
