Sleeping in the Bible - a Christian perspective
Shortly before his betrayal and death, Jesus went out to the mountain with his disciples to pray. But while he prayed, they fell asleep instead of staying alert. Here, Jesus chides them for being unable to stay awake even for a short hour.
