We wouldn't pour fine wine into an old, crumbling wineskin--we'd pour it into a brand new one. In the same way, God's children are transformed to become suitable servants of the Holy Spirit.

New wine in the Bible - a Christian perspective
Jesus says that no one pours new wine into an old wineskin. Likewise no one sews an unshrunk patch on an old garment. Both will be destroyed. They instead pour new wine into new wineskins.
