Posture, location and prayer
While there’s no perfectly “holy” posture and location for prayer, I think it’s obvious that both effect the experience of prayer. A prayer said out loud with your family while driving down the road is going to be much different than one said while laying facedown by yourself in a private space.
How has your physical posture and location affected your spiritual posture towards prayer, if at all?
I don’t thnk posture has a serius effect because sometimes I pray while lying down
And I stll receive and sometimes I pry while standing I feel the presence of God and
God looks at the heart at tmes the situation forces u to move around and shout.I believ
Tht wat matters is yo faith
I see this being true since when alone your posture is completely different becuase you aren’t being judged by other people.
by posture i mean like the way you pray and arent afraid to cry and pour your heart out easier.. 😀
One word. Reverence.
Contemporary churches do very little if nothing to foster reverence, which can carry over into our private lives. There needs to be a resurgence of reverence in our day – from private to corporate.
My church has started sitting during most of our worship time, which is like pouring cold water on a warmed-up spirit. I feel that sitting is a posture for rest. Standing has always been a sign of reverence or honor as in standing when a judge enters the room or bowing before a king. So why have we become so nonchilaunt with the Almighty God and Savior of the world? It seems so disrespectful that I sense my spirit just cringing every time we sit while “praising”. Worship leaders please wake up and lead your congregations to truly worship and praise the Lord!
“Forgive us Father, I know we can do better.”
Lots of times i pray silently as i walk down the street or lieing down also.
